Booking Terms & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026
These Booking Terms & Cancellation Policy apply to appointments and services booked with D&J Detailing. They explain how bookings, cancellations, rescheduling, payments and other service arrangements are handled.
Please read these terms before making a booking. By confirming an appointment with D&J Detailing, you will be asked to accept the terms that apply to your booking.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
Bookings & Appointment Confirmation
Bookings & Appointment Confirmation
A booking is not confirmed until D&J Detailing has accepted the appointment and, where applicable, any required deposit or booking payment has been received.
When making a booking, customers must provide accurate contact, vehicle and location information so we can allocate the correct service, time and vehicle-size category.
Appointment times are arranged as accurately as possible, but because D&J Detailing operates as a fully mobile service, arrival times may occasionally be affected by traffic, weather, access issues or delays on an earlier appointment. We will make reasonable efforts to keep you informed if this happens.
If we discover that the vehicle is significantly larger, more heavily soiled or requires substantially more work than described when booking, we will discuss any change in price or service before carrying out additional work.
D&J Detailing will provide services with reasonable care and skill in accordance with your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Cancellations & Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact D&J Detailing as soon as reasonably possible so we can make the appointment available to another customer.
Where a booking is made online, by telephone or away from our business premises, customers may have cancellation rights under UK consumer law, including a 14-day cancellation period in certain circumstances.
If you specifically ask D&J Detailing to provide a service during that cancellation period, your cancellation rights may be affected once work has started or the service has been completed.
If D&J Detailing needs to cancel or reschedule an appointment due to severe weather, illness, vehicle problems or circumstances outside our reasonable control, we will contact you as soon as possible and arrange an alternative appointment.
Customer Responsibilities & Vehicle Access
Customer Responsibilities & Vehicle Access
To allow D&J Detailing to carry out the booked service safely and efficiently, customers are responsible for ensuring that we have reasonable access to the vehicle at the agreed location and appointment time.
Please ensure that:
the vehicle is accessible and we have any keys required to carry out the booked service;
we have permission to work on the vehicle at the chosen location;
there is a safe and suitable area around the vehicle for us to work;
valuable or personal belongings are removed where possible before an interior service;
any known faults, damaged components, loose trim, electrical issues or other relevant problems are brought to our attention before work begins; and
children and pets are kept safely away from the working area while equipment and chemicals are in use.
If we cannot safely access or work on the vehicle when we arrive, we may need to delay, alter or reschedule the appointment.
Weather & Mobile Service Conditions
Weather & Mobile Service Conditions
As D&J Detailing operates as a fully mobile service, some appointments may be affected by weather conditions or the suitability of the working area.
Light rain will not always prevent us from working, but heavy rain, strong winds, freezing conditions, extreme heat or unsafe working conditions may mean an appointment needs to be delayed, changed or rescheduled.
Where possible, we will make this decision as early as we can and contact you to arrange the best alternative.
Customers should provide a suitable and reasonably safe location for the service to be carried out. If the location is unsuitable or creates a safety risk, we may need to alter or reschedule the appointment.
Prices & Payment
Prices & Payment
Prices shown on the D&J Detailing website are based on the service selected, vehicle size and the level of work normally required.
Where a service is advertised as “from” a particular price, the final price may vary depending on the size, condition and requirements of the vehicle. If additional work is recommended after we inspect the vehicle, we will discuss this with you before carrying it out.
Payment is due on completion of the service unless another arrangement has been agreed in advance.
D&J Detailing may accept payment through available methods such as card payment, bank transfer or other approved payment services.
Customers will not be charged for additional work that has not been agreed beforehand.
Vehicle Condition & Service Results
Vehicle Condition & Service Results
D&J Detailing will assess the vehicle and carry out the booked service using appropriate products, equipment and techniques for the condition of the vehicle.
Some stains, scratches, paint defects, contamination, wear, damage or deterioration may not be completely removable. Where relevant, we will explain what can reasonably be achieved before or during the service.
Paint Enhancement, Paint Correction and other improvement services are intended to improve the condition and appearance of the vehicle, but no specific percentage of defect removal is guaranteed unless agreed in writing beforehand.
Existing damage, previous repairs, weak or failing paint, loose trim, damaged seals, electrical faults or other pre-existing issues may affect the work that can safely be carried out. If we identify something that could create a risk of further damage, we may stop or modify that part of the service and discuss it with you first.
D&J Detailing will not be responsible for pre-existing defects or damage that was already present before the service began.
Problems With a Service & Complaints
Problems With a Service & Complaints
If you believe there is a problem with a service provided by D&J Detailing, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so we can understand the issue and, where appropriate, inspect the vehicle.
We will make reasonable efforts to resolve genuine concerns fairly and promptly.
Where a service has not been carried out with reasonable care and skill or does not match what was agreed, your statutory rights may include the right to have the service repeated or, in some circumstances, to receive an appropriate price reduction.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or restrict any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under UK consumer law.
Ceramic Coatings & Protection Services
Ceramic Coatings & Protection Services
Ceramic coatings and other protection products are designed to improve durability, enhance appearance and make ongoing maintenance easier, but they do not make a vehicle maintenance-free or completely resistant to damage, scratches, contamination or environmental exposure.
The performance and longevity of any protection product can depend on factors including vehicle use, storage, washing methods, mileage, environmental conditions and ongoing maintenance.
Where a manufacturer or product warranty applies, customers may need to follow specific aftercare and maintenance requirements for that warranty to remain valid.
D&J Detailing will provide appropriate aftercare guidance following the service. Customers are responsible for following that guidance and informing us if they believe there is an issue with the applied protection.
Any stated coating durability, such as “up to 7 years” or “up to 10 years”, refers to the product manufacturer’s stated potential durability and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every vehicle will achieve the maximum period.
Liability & Circumstances Outside Our Control
Liability & Circumstances Outside Our Control
D&J Detailing will always carry out services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK consumer law.
We will not be responsible for loss or damage that could not reasonably have been foreseen, or for delays and failures caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, road closures, breakdowns, power or water issues, or other events that make it unsafe or impractical to carry out the service.
Where possible, we will contact you promptly and rearrange the appointment or agree another reasonable solution.
These terms do not limit your statutory rights, and they do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes to These Terms
Changes to These Terms
D&J Detailing may update these Booking Terms & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, booking process, payment methods or legal requirements.
The version that applies to your booking will normally be the version in place when your appointment was confirmed.
Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
